Application
This page lists the steps that need to be followed in order to apply for the Optics M.S. or the Ph.D. Optics program and
for College of Optics and Photonics Graduate Fellowships.
All applicants must complete the Graduate School's Online Application. There is also a College of Optics & Photonics
Pre-Application which is required for all fellowship applicants, and recommended for all applicants to the College.
- If you wish to apply to the Optics PhD program and for a fellowship:
Step 1: Complete the College of Optics & Photonics Pre-Application
(You can wait for our comments on your pre-application before proceeding to step 2).
Step 2: Complete the Graduate School's Online Application.
Step 3: Mail supporting documents detailed in Admission Requirements to
Graduate Admissions:

- If you wish to apply to the Optics PhD or MS programs and do not need a fellowship
Step 1: Complete the Graduate School's Online Application.
Step 2: Mail supporting documents detailed in Admission Requirements to
Graduate Admissions: (See address above.)
Step 3: So that we are aware of your application at an early stage, we request that you also complete the College
of Optics & Photonics Pre-Application. This is optional for
US citizens, but required for international applicants.
- If you wish to apply to another UCF PhD program and for a College of Optics and Photonics Fellowship:
Step 1: Complete the College of Optics & Photonics Pre-Application
(You should wait for our comments on your pre-application before proceeding to step 2).
Step 2: Complete the Graduate School's Online Application
for the appropriate PhD program.
A note about online application forms: The Graduate School's online system and the College of Optics & Photonics online
system are completely independent. This means that you will need to enter much of the same information on both systems.
Application Deadlines:
The University Application Deadlines for both domestic and international students are published
here.
If applying for a college fellowship, the College of Optics and Photonics deadline is
January 2.
The application and all supporting documentation must be received by this date to be considered for a Fellowship.
