Fellowships
Nationally competitive Graduate Fellowships and Assistantships packages are available
at CREOL, The College of Optics & Photonics for qualified PhD students. Students wishing
to pursue related PhD degrees at UCF with a college of Optics and Photonics research
supervisor may also apply for our fellowships.
CREOL Research Fellowship
Stipend ranges from $22,000 to $28,000 per calendar year. This fellowship allows outstanding students to start their PhD studies
in the College and find a research advisor after they arrive. Most of
our incoming PhD students are recruited on this type of fellowship.

CREOL Foundation Fellowships

- Schwartz Fellowships
- Suchoski Fellowships
These privately endowed fellowships for outstanding US citizens and
permanent residents provide an additional supplement to the CREOL
graduate research fellowships. There is no separate application for
these fellowships. They are selected by the admissions committee from
among optics graduate applicants.
Frances Townes Fellowship
- Support living and tuition expenses
- For female student in Optics
Full tuition, estimated at $28,602 per year, is provided to all Fellowship and Assistantship
students. Fall Admission, applications should be submitted by January 2.
All required application documents must be received by this date.
Fellowship applications received after the deadline will be considered, subject
to availability of positions. Fellowships are only occasionally given with spring
admission.
