When you click on the link to enter CREOL, The College of Optics & Photonics intranet, you are prompted for a user name and password. Enter your CREOL domain username and password as shown below. Be sure to preceded your user name with 'creol\'. Note this is a back-slash, not a forward-slash.
Automatic Login
If you are already logged into the CREOL domain, Internet Explorer will let you access secure pages without prompting for a user name and password, if IE recognizes that these pages are on your intranet (as apposed to the Internet). You can add web sites to your local intranet under the security settings in Internet Explorer. Click here for detailed instructions on how to add http://www.creol.ucf.edu to your local intranet sites in Internet Explorer. Alternatively, if you use a truncated URL (see below), IE assumes the site is on your intranet.
Truncated URLs
A truncated URL is one that is missing the creol.ucf.edu part. For example, http://www is the truncated version of http://www.creol.ucf.edu. Truncated URLs should work on all computers in the CREOL building because the DNS suffix is set to creol.ucf.edu. If you are using a computer with a different DNS suffix then the truncated URL will not work and you will need to use the full URL.
What if you cannot log in
If you are repeatedly prompted for your user name and password, then something is wrong. Obviously, if you are using the incorrect user name and/or password you will not gain access. If you have not been granted access to a particular web page, you will not, as expected, receive a message saying "Access Denied." Instead, you will repeatedly receive the login dialog box.
