Liquid Crystal Displays and Foveated Imaging
Shin-Tson Wu, PREP Professor of Optics, UCF School of Optics
Abstract
Liquid crystal has been used widely for displays and photonic imaging
devices. Displacement of CRTs with LCDs is taking place in all areas, e.g.,
desktop computers, TVs and projectors. In addition, new applications for
cellular phones, digital cinema and foveated imaging are emerging.
In this talk, I will describe the latest development in large screen LCD
TVs, transflective LCDs for cell phones, and foveated imaging devices for
animating human vision.
