Biography

Jennefir received his B.S. in both Physics and Electrical Engineering at Mindanao State University and the Master of Science through an Erasmus Mundus program involving the University of St. Andrews, Heriot-Watt University, Vrije University, and Ghent University. His masters thesis described a photonics lab-on-a-chip system for detecting biomolecules via fluorescence and absorbance. He also worked as a failure analysis engineer at Intel. He started study toward the PhD in Optics in the fall of 2010 and finished his candidacy last February 2012. His projects involve investigating novel material systems and device geometries for luminescent solar concentrators and fabricating and characterizing spatially variant photonic crystals.
