Biography
Matthew Weed began at CREOL as a PhD student in Fall 2007. He received his BS degree in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. General research efforts involve the design and simulation of fabrication focused photonic structures toward the realization of integrated Quantum Information devices, laser sources, and optical circuitry.  Currently, he is focused on the design of Coupled-resonance Optical Waveguides (CROWs) in Photonic Crystal networks that make use of slow-light phenomena to achieve on-chip mode-locked lasers, optical buffers, and bio-chemical sensors.
