CREOL
BUILDING EXPANSION
CONSTRUCTION HAS STARTED
The
construction of the 21,000
sq ft expansion to the CREOL
building got underway in
December, 2005. The
scheduled occupancy is
November 2006. The
3-floor expansion to
the current 83,000 sq ft
CREOL building will add
much-needed offices and
laboratories, a portion of
which will be available as
an extension to the
UCF Incubator. This
outreach and offer of
partnership through the
incubator with small and
start-up companies was an
important factor in the
award of $1.5M from the US
Department of Commerce
Economic Development
Administration to help fund
the building. The remaining
$3.8M of the $5.3M projected
final cost is being provided
by a combination of funds
from the Florida Photonics
Center of Excellence (FPCE),
the UCF Office of Research
and Commercialization, the
UCF Provost's office,
the Florida High Tech
Corridor Council (FHTCC),
and donations to our
Facilities Enhancement
Fund. We have an ongoing
capital fund-raising
campaign, and want to thank
the following individuals
and companies who have
contributed to the
Facilities Enhancement Fund
