“Science Educators’ Day” (EDAY), is an educational session hosted by The Optical Society (OSA) for pre-college educators. This program will focus on effective and innovative approaches to science education, with an emphasis on hands-on, interactive classroom activities.

Cost: Free. Dinner included.
Location: Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort in Orlando, FL

This year’s EDAY program features:
  • Active Learning in Light and Optics: Optics Magic Tricks and Interactive Lecture Demonstrations, presented by David R. Sokoloff.
    David R. Sokoloff was the winner of the 2007 Robert A. Millikan award of the American Association of Physics Teachers for “notable and creative contributions to the teaching of physics.” He was elected President of the American Association of Physics Teachers in 2008, awarded the 2010 Excellence in Physics Education Award by the American Physical Society and was a 2011 Fulbright Specialist in Argentina.
