Biography

Md. Selim Habib is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics, University of Central Florida, USA. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Photonics Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark in 2017. His Ph.D. mainly focused on the design and characterization of low loss hollow-core anti-resonant fiber and soliton-plasma nonlinear dynamics in Raman inactive gas-filled hollow-core fiber. He was a visiting research scholar at CREOL in 2016, where he worked with Microstructred Fibers and Devices Group. After finishing his Ph.D., he joined as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Fibers Sensors and Supercontinuum Group at the Department of Photonics Engineering, Technical University of Denmark, where he worked on the development of low loss hollow-core fiber, dispersion measurement of hollow-core fiber in the mid-IR regime, and soliton-plasma nonlinear dynamics in the mid-IR. His research mainly focuses on design and fabrication of low loss hollow-core fiber in the near-IR to mid-IR, gas-laser nonlinear interaction, supercontinuum generation and multi-mode nonlinear optics.

He has published more than 40 journal and conference publications (with 615+ citations and an h-index of 15 - Google Scholar). 

Mr. Habib is a Member of the Optical Society of America, IEEE, and SPIE. He received the University Gold Medal Award from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology in 2014.
